This cycle and pedestrian bridge follows the alignment of the former Poissy bridge while preserving archaeological remains and connects the cities of Poissy and Carrières-sous-Poissy.
Its lightweight arch-based design echoes the historic structure while maintaining wide views over the Seine landscape. The bridge is characterized, along the sides of its deck, by the so-called “wings”, integrated elements of the main steelwork that serve both structural and architectural functions. These wings contribute to increasing the torsional stiffness of the deck and improve the distribution of eccentric actions, such as those generated by wind or uneven pedestrian and cyclist loading. From a compositional standpoint, the wings enhance the transverse perception of the bridge, defining a light and dynamic edge that accompanies the path and reinforces the sense of spatial continuity. This integration results in an efficient, lightweight and coherent solution, contributing to its visual transparency and reducing its impact on the river landscape of the Seine.
